Original Art Inspired by the Butterfly Effect

This is a pen drawing of butterfly wing morphed with an elephant eye that I made at a time in my life (early twenties) where it felt like every little decision I made would have huge consequences. It was paralysing. Choosing what to study, where to live, what to do for the rest of my life. It's only a small drawing, mixing the large element of an elephant with the small element of the butterfly wing. The butterfly effect (great movie with Ashton Kutcher, by the way), is a theory that states that something as small as the flap of the wing of a butterfly somewhere in the Amazonian rainforest could have huge ramifications, causing proverbial tsunami's on the other side of the world.

Art as therapy

I use art to process big feelings, using visual metaphors that help me communicate how I feel so we can start a dialogue about it. It's astoundingly common to feel this overwhelmed at this stage of your life, it turns out. It's just that nobody's talking about it, because nobody's taking the time to sit with it.
