Saving you, losing me | I painted my toxic ex relationship dynamic
This painting was inspired by a dream I had during a breakup. Let's be honest, it was more of a nightmare. I was the one underneath, paddling like crazy to keep her afloat while she only put in half-assed efforts. Both of us were drowning. If we both let go, we could both stay afloat on our own.
I was shocked by the internet when it got 1.5 million views, and so many of you could relate to this experience. It turns out this is a really common experience, and it's been so healing to know that we are not alone in that.

And I want this art piece to be available to anyone, so everyone can be reminded of their lessons in life and love. That's why I make art, to heal and share the healing.

About the original breakup painting
The original 100cm by 140cm acrylic painting took me 7 months or 250 hours to paint. It was so healing to pour all the love and energy that would've gone into her, into creating this art piece. It was a practice of disciplined self-love that helped me reclaim myself. This piece is going to be part of a larger collection that I will exhibit in galleries internationally.
